You are just unlucky...

These are the words I remember hearing after asking my oncologist what caused my Hodgkins' lymphoma cancer at age 35, while pregnant with my second child.

There was no known history of cancer in my family...before me. And yet there I was facing 6 months of chemo and radiation therapy.

I am now proud to join the ranks of cancer survivors. But I have never been able to fully believe that my cancer was simply "bad luck". My actions (or lack thereof!) must have had an impact.

I've started this blog to chronicle how my decision to accept responsibility for and take control of my life has positively transformed me and the lives of those around me.
